Shrapnel

This game is not yet released and not all details are known.

Microtransactions in Shrapnel are summarized as...

The game is currently in an early stage and no monetization is present.

The was build from the start with NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and the blockchain as the forefront, with the game being a means to an end. The game will feature cosmetics which are managed through NFTs. NFTs are used to put some form of false ownership on items. These can than be listed and sold through and in-game marketplace using a cryptocurrency called "SHRAP". This functions as an in-game currency, but also as a cryptocurrency as a whole. This cryptocurrency is not only used to purchase or trade items, it can also be used to promote certain items to impact their discoverability in the marketplace. Doing so will net you a portion of the sales of the final item, even if it is not yours.
This whole system centers around gambling with the worth of an item, allowing you to "stake" certain cosmetics which is meant as some sort of long-term investment in rare cosmetics.

This is all rather vague and how exactly this will play out once the game releases is not yet known.

Additional planned monetization includes Battle Passes, purchasing additional playable characters, and character progression and leveling options.
