Dune: Awakening
Microtransactions in Dune: Awakening are summarized as...
The game is available to purchase as 3 different versions:
- Standard edition, for roughly 50 USD.
- Deluxe edition, for roughly 70 USD, granting 5-day early access, a season pass, and a set of armor.
- Ultimate edition, for roughly 90 USD, granting 5-day early access, a season pass, the same set of armor as well as another set of armor, building sets, digital art and soundtrack, and cosmetic color palettes.
All 3 edition coukd be pre-ordered, granting the same rewards; a color palette and a building accessory.
With the game being an MMO, the 5-day early access could have left players who opted to pay extra at an advantage compared to those who didn't. They will have had a head start on acquiring gear, items, and experience.
The season pass consists of 4 DLC, the details on these are sparse. One is cosmetic only, the three others contain both story content and cosmetics.
The developers have stated the game will receive regular free updates, as well as paid DLC. The developers stated in a livestream that the game will not contain any in-game monetization.
