Crimson Desert
Microtransactions in Crimson Desert are summarized as...
The game is sold at full price with an optional deluxe edition for an additional 10 USD over the base game. This unlocks a number of in-game items. This consists of two sets that are not cosmetic only:
- A character armor and shield set that provides different stats and upgrades compared to other in-game items. This armor set is not strictly better than other sets but may provide some stat bonuses that other armor does not.
- A horse armor set that is strictly better than many other comparable items, only outclasses by items later in the game. These items provide additional health, health regeneration, attack power, and armor.
The developers have stated the game does not contain any form of microtransactions at launch, but they did point out they only meant at launch. Additional monetization may come at a later point but no details are available yet.
