The game can be purchased in 2 version;
- Standard Edition, for roughly 70 USD.
- Phantom Edition, for an additional 30 USD, totaling roughly 100 USD.
The Phantom Edition grants access to in-game content, which primarily consists of cosmetic items such as character, weapon, and vehicle skins, profile customization. It also contains some gameplay altering items. This includes additional weapons, XP boosts. It also includes a token for a premium Battle Pass, as well as Battle Pass tier skips.
Pre-ordering either edition of the game granted access to a set of unique cosmetic content.
The game contains a premium currency by the name "Battlefield Coins", or "BFC". BFC is purchased in bundles that gain slight value with larger bundles. 500 BFC costs roughly 5 USD, 1.100 BFC costs roughly 10 USD, all the way up to 13.000 BFC for roughly 100 USD.
Cosmetic items can only be purchased in bundles. These bundles contain character skins, weapon skins, charms, profile customization, and more. Items in these bundles can not be purchased separately. These bundles are often only available for a limited time, where time varies. Some bundles are available for 14 days, where as others for only 2 days. Some of these bundles match the BFC bundle sizes, being priced at 500 or 1.100 BFC, but others don't, them being 750 BFC, 1.300 BFC, 1.550 BFC, or virtually any other number.
There are currently no items available outside of bundles.
The game contains battle passes that feature both a free and premium rewards. Each battle pass consists of multiple paths, each needs to be progressed separately but only one path can be active at a time. You need to fully complete one path before moving on to the next. The final path can only be progressed when all other paths are completed.
The battle pass contains both cosmetic and non-cosmetic items, where the non-cosmetic items consist of experience boosts.
The battle pass can also be purchased under a "Battlefield Pro" bundle. This bundle includes additional rewards for the battle pass, the ability to host larger Portal servers, additional XP boosts, and 25 battle pass tier skips.
Some cosmetics items are locked behind an EA Play subscription. This comes in two versions, the default subscription for roughly 6 USD per month and the Pro version for roughly 17 USD per month. The Pro version grants access to the Phantom Edition mentioned earlier. Both version grants access to a set of unique recurring set of cosmetics that are only available to unlock during the season you purchasing the subscription in. Additionally the subscriptions grants time limited XP boosts.
